8 year old constantly sick

Answered 2 years ago

My 8 year old daughter got gastro about 3 months ago after my one year old started daycare. Since then it seems like every week or two the vomiting and diarrhoea starts again, we have cut out dairy and eliminated different foods from her diet in the hopes of healing her stomach but nothing seems to help, I’m getting concerned that it may be something more serious. Does anyone else have any experience with this or any idea what could be going on? She has been to the doctors multiple times and they have done stool samples that are pretty inconclusive, or just said it’s another virus, but surley not every two weeks! I’m getting very anxious about it, my one year old gets sick often too, but the doctors have said it’s because he started daycare 3 months ago, I’m at my wits end, please give any advice you can, Thankyou ❤️

Sadly the price parents pay for working and using day care is the never ending germs and illness that comes with it. Kids share germs and childcare is one of those places it spreads like wildfire. Every person I know has been through this with their children once one is placed in day care / childcare. It comes with the teritory. All you can do is provide healthy nutritious food, probiotics to boost inner health and ensure adequate rest and hydration. If you feel it's something else seek another opinion such as a herbalist, a nutritionist, another gp.
Is your daughter anxious? Anxiety can cause upset stomaches. Stress can too. Sometimes it can be what's going on inside the head causing physical ailments too. You need to rule everything out with blood tests, such as ceoliac etc. All the best
