Why am I struggling so much with my partners daughter??

Answered 2 years ago

I’ve been with my partner nearly a year and I love him so much but I am massively struggling with his daughter. She is 5 and is just a total brat, constantly cries for his attention, she is very devious in the sense that she does things to get my child in trouble and runs back to her mother telling tales. As soon as me and her dad turn our backs she is teasing my child about how her house is better than hers and how she has better things. When she is in my house she cries to go home, looks constantly miserable, ignores my child, wont play, when we take her out she cries non stop. I’ve really tried but absolutely everything she does irritates me and her dad thinks she is an Angel, I’ve asked him on the days he has her to keep her at his house but he insists on bringing her to mine. I would do anything to avoid her, how can I overcome this? I love my partner and I know she is his number one priority

Sounds like she is jealous. She is only little, so maybe some group activities together will improve the relationship all round - I think avoiding her won't be the solution.
