I think definitely cut if born before 1980, and maybe 50/50 if born afterwards? I asked my mil why, and she said it was the Aussie thing to do, and she was happy to do it because it looked so much better and was cleaner.

When our son was 2 he needed to bee circumcised. I was really worried, but afterwards I had to agree it looked much neater. One consideration to not do it at birth was so that he would be like his father. I suggested that hubby get it done both to match and because it looked better, and the same doctor was very happy to do it. He was born in the 1970s so it was surprising that he wasn’t done at birth, like nearly all boys at that time. He had thought about getting it done when he was younger, and took the opportunity when I was pregnant with our next. I now tell him that his penis is the only bit of him that looks better now than when we first got together a long time ago. I think it is much better cut.

Divorced and just been with my first uncut guy as husband was circumcised. Never knew the difference before but agree with that other lady, masturbating him is so different. Sex is good, don't really notice a difference in that department but like the foreplay.

Hubby is circumcised and has been since his teens. It wasn't his choice and he wonders what sex would be like with a foreskin, I suppose he will never know. We have sons and have never circumcised them as just not required. All my previous boyfriends had foreskins so it was a bit of a change when I got with my now husband. I love him so wouldn't change him but I do miss the foreskin for foreplay as the skin rolls up and down but as for sex I actually like him circumcised, it feels good inside as he tends to thrust harder to get more feeling which is good for me. It is always clean so any oral sex is easy.

That’s your personal choice…I’m uncut and love the sensations of the foreskin in my girlfriend with gentle thrusting. Both my girlfriends love the feel also, so sorry your husband is ok but is missing the added bonus of not having his foreskin!

Agree! Uncut is best and thank goodness the majority of Aussie boys are left uncut ! The big problem is that most men and boys are uneducated about the purpose and function of foreskins, most women included! The hygiene aspect is easy to understand as that is normally taught at home and in some sex education classes. However nothing is taught about the functions of the foreskin to enhance foreplay, masturbation and increased orgasmic sensations just to name a few! That is why some men remove their foreskins thinking it’s worthless and absolutely makes no difference. Unfortunately it’s the ignorance of not knowing…

Agreed, boys and girls require proper sex education that explains all aspects of sexuality. That includes the scientific studied erogenous areas in the foreskin: the foreskin’s ridged band.

What a simplistic and probably silly answer. What if parents decided not to circumcise then the person decided to have it done as an adult?

My father and four brothers were all intact (not circumcised), I was kept intact too.
My foreskin was used in all kinds of ways during sexual activity, and its inner surface was the most sensitive part of my penis (more sensitive that even the glans). Orgasms were so intense that my body would convulse with waves of ecstatic pleasure.
When I was 19 I had an elective circumcision just to fit in as my friends were circumcised.
Conventional wisdom at the time (which is still around today unfortunately) said that there was no difference between being intact and being circumcised. Common sense should have told me otherwise, but I was young. Following circumcision, the constantly exposed glans dried out and its surface became ordinary skin rather than moist mucous membrane. The surface became calloused rather than delicate, and although the nerves were still there below the surface, the calloused, dry and thicker skin of the glans definitely decreased sensation as well as lack of foreskin full of sensory nerve endings.
Orgasms were still possible of course, but they were not nearly as intense as when I was intact.
Later, I discovered that non-surgical foreskin restoration was possible. I wrote off for the directions and fashioned home-made devices to restore my foreskin and protect my glans again. My glans has resensitised and became a moist mucous membrane once again. The loose skin (which looks very natural and functions surprisingly naturally too) makes masturbation and intercourse easy and more enjoyable for both myself and my wife.
I have two intact young adult sons who are both grateful they were kept that way.
Some men will write in and say it makes no difference or much better after having an adult snip…however many like myself are disappointed and do foreskin restoration. Just be grateful that it’s a god given gift to be born with a foreskin that has a purpose and function…boys, men and women need to be taught about the benefits of a foreskin.

I am sorry you don't enjoy being circumcised.
As a counterpoint, I was circumcised in my mid-20s and love it.
Some of my earliest memories are of seeing circumcised friends and thinking how much better it looked.
I found my foreskin was an annoyance. Pubic hair used to get stuck in it and when I became sexually active I didn't like the feeling of it rolling back and forth inside my girlfriend. One of us holding the foreskin back during sex was so much more enjoyable. (She didn't care either way.)
After I was circumcised, the feeling was different in a way that's difficult to describe. I could feel my girlfriend's entire vagina enveloping my penis, right down to the base.
I have never regretted getting circumcised, and my girlfriends and partners have only had positive comments.
I'm in two minds about whether I would have preferred to have been done as a baby. It would have saved me having it done later but also I am glad I had the choice.
I wouldn't circumcise any boys I had. I view it as needless cosmetic surgery. But I'd support my son(s) if they decided to have it done..

It should come back when erect, or able to be pulled back easily. Staying over the head is not usual and if it never comes back or is tight you should see a doctor. There are treatments available that don't include circumcision.

I posted the previous comment. My hubby had it done in his 20s, before we met.
He says he always hated his foreskin because of the look of it, the feel of it during sex and that it just generally got in the way (apparently pubes used to get caught in it!).
He says that for him there are no downsides. Sex better, looks great, etc.
I have a strong preference for a circumcised guy so I am very thankful he had it done.
We agree though that any boys of ours wouldn't be done and we'd let them decide for themselves, like hubby was able to.

Reading the comments here, it really does seem that most women prefer it (although that's not very scientific!).
I know most of my friends and I do, too, but some couldn't care either way. When the girls talk, none of my friends admit to preferring foreskin, despite what they need to tell their uncut partners!
As for it making a comeback, the other thing that surprises me on here is the numbers who have circumcised their sons and that it seems quite prevalent in their circles of friends.
I understood that it was about 10-20% (depending on the state you're in or rural v city) but it seems quite higher than that.
