Alabama is within, and subordinate, to the United States' federal government, which has a written constitution that contains an express Bill of Rights, which protects citizens' rights of privacy. Thus, for example, it has been found to be a constitutional right to marry one's chosen spouse, despite the races of the partners, and to use birth control. To the best of my knowledge, neither the Maldives, nor Cuba, nor Saudi Arabia, nor the United Arab Emirates have any such guaranteed personal rights. Even the people's republic that lies just north of the United States doesn't have guaranteed freedom of religion or of speech in the same way, and to the same extent, as the U.S. has; thus a pastor who preaches faithfully according to the Bible can be banned from entering Canada. So just imagine how it is in those third-world countries listed....
