We know how parents do everything for us, right? Well, news flash! Not all of them.
Yes, we thank our parents for giving us life and keeping us alive. They clothe us, hug us, love us, and for that, we will forever be thankful. But how about those parents who made their kids feel worthless?
Well, this goes out to those types of parents. Aren’t you thankful for your kids too for giving you life (when you were empty) and keeping you alive (when you felt alone)? I mean, your kids didn’t ask to be born! Remember how their laugh made you laugh too? How their kisses give you life?
It’s so upsetting how some parents go blaming their child and doing the most cruel things to them. Ugh!
Well, apparently, in Ask SAHM, we have heard of these kinds of stories and it just makes me sick to my stomach. Here are some of the most cruel things parents did to their children.

1. “My mother gave me to welfare to raise so she could continue to be an alcoholic…”
“My mother gave me to welfare to raise so she could continue to be an alcoholic. Years later, when it looked like I could return to her care, she decided her boyfriend was way more important. As an adult, I asked why she gave me up, her reply was that she simply loved my eldest brother more. After years of emotional abuse and neglect, I no longer have a relationship with her.”
2. “[They] disowned me and told me to get an abortion…”
“Disowned me and told me to get an abortion. After I had my child, I had nowhere to go so went back and lived with them. They made me out to be the worst person in the world for having a child, made me feel such shame and guilt whilst they believed they did nothing wrong. Will never forget what they did to me in my greatest time of need and support. I have forgiven them but I don’t trust or like them all that much.”
3. “They never ever dealt with my brother bullying me.”
“They never ever dealt with my brother bullying me. For my entire childhood. He hit me everyday, was mean, teased, narcissistic, would set me up to fail or embarrass myself. They would just tell me ‘don’t get upset’ or ‘he’s only doing it to annoy you’ etc etc. I have zero relationship with him now.”
4. “He’s probably just playing doctors and nurses…”
“I told my dad that I was being sexually abused by my brother and he told me ‘Oh he’s probably just playing doctors and nurses’. And that was the end of that. I told my mum that I was being sexually abused by my brother and she told him ‘she’s getting older now, she needs her privacy’. Like she’d known all along but now it was time to stop because I was going through puberty. That was the last she ever said of it and I was abused for another 6 or so years.”
5. “Did nothing when i told them I was sexually abused by neighbour…”
“Did nothing when i told them I was sexually abused by neighbour and uncle being inappropriate was laughed off ‘oh that’s just him! He does that to everyone! I still have trust issues and get scared if my husband touches me a certain way i feel like I’m 6 years old again.”
6. “I was raped…[mum said]…if I hadn’t worn my platform shoes out, I could have run away…”
“After I told my mom I was raped, she said that if I hadn’t worn my platform shoes out, I could have run away.”
