This Traditional Seven Layered Salad is the perfect salad for when you have family and friends gathered in your house on special occasions.
It’s delicious, filling, healthy and it’s really pretty.
Best part is, this salad is made of layer upon layer upon layer upon layer upon layer upon layer upon layer of deliciousness. Yes, I said that seven times! Because this is 7x sooo good. That good!
Here’s something you should keep in mind while making this Traditional Seven Layered Salad: Everything must be dry when you’re making this.
The vegetables should be washed at least an hour before and wiped or drained dry. That way you don’t have a soggy salad. Also, no canned peas! Frozen is the way to go.
Of course, use a transparent/glass serving casserole dish or a trifle dish for added decor, so you can admire this beauty as you gather around to eat.

Method

In a bowl, mix the sour cream, mayonnaise, parmesan cheese, honey, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt and pepper together. Place the dressing the fridge while you prepare the other ingredients and make the layers.

Make sure all ingredients are drained of water and oil. All of it must be dry! Then, take your serving dish and wipe it dry as well.

Take the chopped iceberg lettuce and place it at the bottom of the dish. Spread evenly.

Next, place tomatoes on top of the lettuce, spread evenly to create another layer. Do the same and add in the green peas, eggs and onions. Add in the cheddar cheese as well but leave some for later.

Take out the dressing from the fridge and place it on top of the serving dish and then add in another layer of cheddar cheese spread evenly on top.

Now, take the fried bacon bits (make sure it has little oil as possible and spread it at the centre of the serving dish, leaving an outer layer of dressing and cheese.

Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving. Make sure to eat this with a little bit of every layer to appreciate its savoury goodness!
