Now that we have your attention and we all know you don’t make friends with salad…..but hey it’s healthy and summer is going to be too hot to eat chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner! This Strip Poker Salad is very simple but having it cut into thin strips somehow makes it look and taste better!

Method

  1. The key to this salad is having a 'julienne peeler'. You can get these from any kitchen shop and usually under $10.

  2. Place lettuce in each bowl and top with tomato. Slice capsicum thinly with a knife, leaving as long strips. Now for the fun part, peel the carrot skin with standard peeler, then in long strips start shredding the carrot, with your julienne peeler.

  3. Do the same with cucumber but do not peel the skin, the colour looks great in the salad.

  4. Top with a dollop of mayonnaise and 2 tablespoons of tuna on each plate.

  5. Serve immediately.

Recipe Hints and Tips:

  • You can swap the tuna for salmon, chicken or ham.
