  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 Garlic Cloves crushed
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 400 g Button Mushroom
  • 400 g Beef Mince
  • 800 g Diced Tomatoes
  • 1/2 cups Basil Leaves shredded
  • 500 g Spaghetti
  • 1 g Parmesan finely grated, to serve
  • 1 Basil Leaves to serve
  • 1 Brown Onion finely chopped

Make a classic Spaghetti Bolognese Recipe with homemade Bolognese sauce and tender chunks of beef, making this dish a family favourite. Ditching the jar of readymade sauce will be the best decision you ever make.

 

Method

  1. Finely chop mushrooms by hand, or alternatively 1 pulse in a food processor until finely chopped.

  2. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté for 3 minutes or until softened. Add mushrooms, increase heat to high and cook for 5 minutes or until moisture has almost evaporated. Add tomato paste, cook, stirring for 1 minute.

  3. Add mince, cook, breaking up mince with wooden spoon, until mince changes colour. Add tomatoes and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes or until thickened. Stir in basil and season.

  4. Meanwhile, cook pasta in a saucepan of boiling salted water following packet instructions. Drain and return to pan.

  5. Stir through mushroom sauce, parmesan and extra basil. Serve.
