These toffee like treats are full of flavour and great add to ice cream for dessert! If you feel like getting really fancy Sesame Snaps are amazing with Panna Cotta.

Method

  1. Pour honey, sugar and water in large saucepan stirring over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Now increase heat to medium and bring to the boil. Let this boil and bubble for approximately 15 minutes. You can test if ready by getting a teaspoon of the toffee like mix and putting in cold water and it will form a soft ball shape.

  2. Now add the sesame seeds and stir through, it will seems thick, keep stirring and bring to the boil again over medium heat for another 13 minutes.

  3. Line a large slice tray or baking tray with baking paper and lightly butter. Pour sesame seed mix onto baking paper and spread to a thin layer, about 2 cm.

  4. Place in refrigerator for 1 hour or allow to cool at room temperature.

  5. Cut into squares using a sharp hot knife. Run knife under hot water each time when cutting so get a clean cut.

Recipe Hints and Tips:

  • Sesame Snaps are not suitable for freezing, keep in airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
  • You can drizzle the top with melted chocolate using a piping bag if you like.
