Easy Peasy Reindeer Cookies
Christmas baking, or in this case, pre-made biscuit decorating, is a great way to keep the kids entertained in the lead up to Christmas.
But if you don’t want to deal with the mess, you can always make them yourself and give them to kids to leave out for Santa on Christmas eve. If they last that long!
Method
-
Melt the chocolate and place a few tbsp in a piping bag to make it easier to secure the eyes, nose and antlers.
-
Dip the pretzels in melted chocolate, place them on baking paper and put in the fridge to set.
-
Pipe a small dot of chocolate to secure Rudolph's nose near the base of the cookie.
-
Above the nose add two dots of chocolate for eyes and place a sugar pearl in each eye.
-
Once the chocolate-coated pretzels have set, you can either leave them whole or very gently and slowly cut through the middle with a sharp knife, it is very easy to break them though so be gentle.
-
Add some melted chocolate to the base of the pretzel where you are going to attach it to the cookie and hold it in place for about 20 seconds.
You can certainly bake your own cookies, but I’ve used bought chocolate chip cookies for this recipe because it’s the holidays and ain’t nobody got time fo dat!
Seriously though, if you have a chocolate chip cookie recipe that is ‘da bomb!’ – if you know what I mean- , go ahead and whip up a batch and just follow our recipe for the decorating part. Enjoy your Reindeer Cookies!
