I love Impossible Pies, here we have the Impossible Milk Tart.
We have the Coconut Impossible Pie and the Savory Impossible Pie recipes already – but this one is something a bit left of centre.
It is a traditional South African dessert, like an Impossible Custard Tart.
Totally delicious – good if you have lots of milk to use up! Enjoy!
Method
-
In a microwave proof bowl, melt the butter.
-
Add the egg yolks(keep the whites in a separate bowl), add caster sugar and beat well with a whisk.
-
Sift the dry ingredients well add to the egg mixture.
-
Slowly at first beat in the milk and vanilla extract.
-
Beat the egg whites in a separate bowl until foamy and fold them into the milky mixture.
-
Pour into a round greased pie dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
-
Bake at 180 degrees for 55 - 60 minutes.
-
Serve hot or cold with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
