So for all you ladies out there getting a De’Longhi Multicuisine for Christmas – this one is for you!
And if you don’t have one – do yourself a favour – get one. Those things are freaking brilliant. I chucked out my deep fryer. I never use my oven and rarely get out my saucepans anymore. They are truly the bom-diggity – and they don’t even have to pay me to say that! Cause it is true. Best appliance EVER.
Method
-
Remove the paddle from the bowl.
-
Soak the raisins in warm water for at least 30 min. In the meantime, peel and core the apples and cut in thin slices.
-
Pour the apples in a large bowl and add the raisins that have been squeezed dry.
-
Add the cinnamon, sugar and pine nuts, mix together gently and let rest.
-
In the meantime, roll the puff pastry out on a work surface with greaseproof paper underneath. Sprinkle with bread crumbs leaving a 2-3cm border. Spread the apple mixture on top and roll the strudel up lengthwise.
-
Be careful not to break the dough and seal with sides so the fulling does not escape while cooking. Put the strudel inside the bowl with the greaseproof paper underneath.
-
Close the lid, select the CAKE program, set power level 2, set 25 minutes and press the program start/stop button.
-
When finished cooking, sprinkle icing sugar over the strudel, slice and serve warm.
Oh, so this is the video we made in my son’s bedroom the other day. It is Apple Strudel – and it was really easy. Me and the girls in the office were munching on the left over apple mixture all afternoon. This makes a perfect dessert if you serve it with ice cream or cream, or both! Be decadent!
