There’s nothing quite like the taste of a freshly grilled sandwich. And while grilled cheese is a classic, have you ever considered a grilled apple sandwich?
This seemingly unlikely combination is a delicious and nutritious breakfast, lunch, or dessert.
Cut a fresh apple into thin rings to make a grilled apple sandwich. Then, spread your favorite type of nut butter on two slices of whole-grain bread. Place the apple slices on one slice of bread and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Next, heat a skillet or panini press and add olive oil. Place the sandwich in the skillet or panini press and cook until the bread is golden brown and the apple slices are tender.
