How to Make Butterscotch Sauce From Scratch
Butterscotch Sauce is delicious hot over vanilla ice cream, as an accompaniment to Sticky Date Pudding, or just on its own by the spoonful. This recipe will last for several weeks in the fridge if sealed correctly.
Butterscotch Sauce is a combination of golden syrup, cream, butter and brown sugar – super sweet. But when it is boiled and reduced, it makes for the most delicious sauce that is a great addition to make any dessert – fantastic.
Method

In a small saucepan heat together all the above ingredients until steaming hot and well combined.

Reduce slightly and serve hot or cold.
Recipe Hints and Tips:
- Butterscotch Sauce is not suitable to freeze.
- It will keep well in the fridge.
- Place in a tall bottle or similar with a lid and keep in the coldest part of the fridge for up to two weeks.
