My kids’ two favourite things Bananas and Milo, so put them together and you get this fantastic Milo Banana Bread that everyone will love!

It freezes well, too.

Milo Banana Bread is a delicious and versatile recipe that can be enjoyed by everyone. A classic banana bread that has been given a unique spin by adding Milo to the mix. This classic treat consists of mashed bananas, eggs, butter, sugar, flour, Milo powder, and baking soda, and salt. With just a few simple ingredients you can create this tasty dessert that is sure to please.

The combination of milo and bananas gives this recipe an irresistible flavour. The sweetness of the bananas is balanced perfectly with the maltiness of the Milo powder. The addition of butter helps to give it a silky texture alongside its crunchy top crust. This delicious dessert can be served warm or chilled as an afternoon snack or even for breakfast if desired.

Milo Banana Bread I Stay at Home Mum

When baking your own Milo Banana Bread at home it’s important to remember that all ingredients should be at room temperature before beginning in order to ensure even baking throughout.

Start by combining the dry ingredients such as the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl before adding in the wet ingredients like eggs and butter which have previously been combined in another bowl until smooth.

After stirring in your mashed banana and milo powder mix, pour into greased bakeware, sprinkle some extra milo on top if desired, then bake for forty minutes at 350°F (175°C).

Once finished your Milo Banana Bread will have a wonderful golden brown top crust and be light yet slightly chewy inside – perfect for enjoying warm with a pat of butter or cooled completely with some ice cream!

Method

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash bananas, add oil, vanilla and bicarbonate soda, mix well using a wooden spoon. Add almond meal, flour and Milo, mix well with wooden spoon.

  3. Crack eggs into large glass and add milk, whisk with a fork until lightly beaten. Pour into banana bread mix and mix well with wooden spoon.

  4. Line loaf tin with baking paper and pour in batter. Bake for 50-60 minutes until golden brown and skewer comes out clean.
