A two-year-old girl was taken to hospital after she was attacked by a kangaroo.
Fraser Coast Chronicle reported that the girl suffered scratches to her face and chest after being attacked just before 4pm in the garden of a house at Point Vernon, Queensland. Paramedics treated the girl at the scene then took her to Hervey Bay Hospital.
A woman, Renee Harris, who was watching television at the time of the attack, said she heard screaming and immediately ran outside. “I ran out and saw the young toddler on the ground with the kangaroo on top,” she said.
Ms Harris said she ran with the girl’s mother to intervene. “I was just so scared”¦I’ve got a three-year-old and I’d hate for that to happen,” she said.
A spokesperson from Hervey Bay hospital told Daily Mail Australia the girl was in a stable condition. “The girl was admitted with non-life threatening injuries and was treated by emergency department staff. She is in a stable condition,” they said.
