A 19-year-old girl has made this grisly discovery while she was looking for a virtual Pokemon.
Shayla Wiggins, from Wyoming in the US, got hooked to the latest mobile phone game Pokemon Go — an augmented reality game which allows players to capture, battle, train, and trade virtual Pokémon in the real world by using their smartphone cameras.
Launched earlier this week, the game enables players to travel around an in-game map that corresponds with their phone’s GPS.
Local news blog County 10 reported that Ms Wiggins was taking an early morning walk towards the bridge by Wind River while playing the game when she saw something in the water.
“As I looked one way, I noticed that there was something in the water in front of me. And so I took a closer look and saw it was a body,” she told BuzzFeed News.
She said the body was that of a man and she immediately called emergency services.
KCWY News 13 reported that as the body was removed from the water, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation and said “the death appears to be accidental in nature and possibly that of a drowning.”
“Evidence located at the scene has led investigators to believe the man went into the water at the location he was found,” the police statement read.
“At this time the investigation is ongoing. Further details as to the circumstances surrounding the death will be released after preliminary autopsy results are received and we have a clearer picture of what occurred,” the statement reads
