A three-year-old boy with autism never expected that his birthday party will be one he will remember forever despite some guests failing to attend.
CNN reported that mum Terra Hubbard, from Oklahoma in the US, was about to cancel her son, Brayden’s birthday party after a lack of guests, but police officers saved the day by surprising the boy. “Not many people were saying if they were going to come or not,” Ms Hubbard said.
Despite this, Ms Hubbard decided to push through with the vehicle-themed celebration and suddenly, received a special surprise at her doorstep — the police officers from the local Yukon station who had decided to help Brayden celebrate.
Officer Matt Hofer told CNN they got an anonymous call asking them to brighten Brayden’s big day. So, the police officers dropped by. During the birthday party, they posed with Brayden and even let him explore their police cars.
Ms Hubbard can’t thank the police officers enough for joining her and Brayden on his birthday. “Just for them to come say hi to Brayden”¦it means a lot,” she said.
Mr Hofer said he hoped the act of kindness gave Ms Hubbard and Brayden a “moment of normalcy”. “As a parent you want the best for your kids, and especially a parent with special needs,” he said.
