Police Appeal to Find Woman Who Attempted to Snatch Baby From Pram in Sydney’s West

Thanks to the quick-thinking mother, the baby was rescued.

A teenage mother was forced to grab her child back from a woman who attempted to snatch her baby from her pram in Sydney’s west.

Police are now investigating the incident which happened at around 10am on Friday along High Street in Penrith.

The 19-year-old mother said that the woman, believed to be in her 30’s, approached her as she was pushing her eight-month-old daughter in her pram. She said she stopped and was only grabbing a bottle from a bag when the woman removed her baby’s harness and picked up the baby. The mum hurriedly grabbed her child back and returned her to the pram before reporting the incident to police.

Neither the mother nor the baby were injured.

Police are now appealing to the public or witnesses to come forward.

The woman was described as Caucasian in appearance, 185cm tall with dark brown hair, and was wearing black pants at the time of the incident.
