Heartwarming Moment Stranger Pays For Girl’s Plane Ticket Because Her Father Couldn’t Afford It

A father was left speechless when a stranger bought a $749 plane ticket for his two-year-old daughter after being told she was too old to fly for free and he couldn’t afford to buy the ticket.

In a post on the Love What Matters Facebook page, shared by Kevin Leslie, the father said that he was travelling with his young daughter when he was told that he had to buy her a plane ticket or she could not board.

The young father was shocked and confused as he thought his daughter was of the age where she could still fly for free. He then said that he would not be able to afford to re-book the flight or pay for the $749 ticket for his daughter, so he stepped to the side and began to make some calls. “Hugging his daughter and grabbing his head, you could tell he was heartbroken,” Mr Leslie shared on the page.

Suddenly, the woman standing next to the young father, at the check in counter walked over to ask him what was wrong.

After the two talked, the woman then walked up to the counter and asked to buy the girl’s ticket.

The agent asked her: “You know how much this ticket costs right?”, then the woman responded that she did and that it was fine, and pulled out her credit card.

Mr Leslie wrote that he watched the whole incident, and told the woman: ‘God Bless you!’ as the agent printed out the ticket. He also wrote about how the agent felt goosebumps while the father hugged the woman and asked for her name to repay her, but the woman just kept saying, “Don’t worry about it,” and said that she just wanted to help the father and his daughter no matter what the cost.

As the post has now gone viral, with more than 190,000 reactions and 40,100 shares, the woman’s identity was revealed as Debbie Bolton, the co-Founder and Global Chief Sales officer at Norwex – a firm that sells home cleaning products, although Ms Bolton hoped to stay anonymous and did not buy the ticket to receive attention.

Amy Cadora, Chief Marketing Officer for the company said in a statement: “We’re not surprised to hear of Debbie’s kind and generous personal gesture. We are very proud of her and love having her as a part of the Norwex team and as one of the Co-Founders of Norwex North America.

“We have always appreciated the loving spirit of Debbie Bolton. She’s kind, caring and generous. That’s why none of us was a bit surprised when we saw the recent post on social media about her generosity.

“Rather than drawing attention to herself, Debbie just ‘did what anyone else would do.’ Her hope is that her action might inspire someone else to make a positive impact in the life of another. Ultimately, we’re all real people, making a real impact.”
