Passengers, between the ages of seven and 15, were trapped in blazing heat on a rollercoaster in Oklahoma City in the US.
KFOR News reported that all the passengers, which also included one adult, were stuck 100 feet in the air on the ride at The Frontier City in Oklahoma, for more than an hour under temperatures reaching 30 degrees. Water was given to the passengers to keep them hydrated as they sat under the scorching heat awaiting rescue.
The Oklahoma City Fire department arrived at the scene and immediately worked to safely escort the passengers from the ride. Over an hour later, all the children had been safely taken to the ground, removed from the ride one-by-one and walked down the track alongside a firefighter.
The management of the theme park said they will do an investigation into the incident to ensure the safety of future visitors. In a statement: “Guest safety is Frontier City’s top priority…As soon as each guest has been evacuated from the Silver Bullet, a thorough investigation into the reason the ride stalled will take place.”
The management explained that the ride had stalled on its lift.
