Penrith High School, Woolooware High School in the Sutherland Shire, Mona Vale Primary and St Monica’s Catholic Primary School in Richmond had reported bomb threat incidents.
A spokeswoman for NSW Police told Yahoo7 today that, “Several police operations are underway at NSW schools. The first call about in about 11am. Police are aware of numerous bomb threats made to schools in the Metropolitan and Southern Regions.
“Investigations are continuing, and police are liaising with the Department of Education. Police are warning that making such threats is a serious criminal offence and every effort will be made to identify the person or persons responsible.”
Threats have also been made in Victoria with another spokeswoman for Victoria Police reporting, “We are aware that a number of Victorian schools have received a threatening phone call today.
“The schools are being evacuated as a precaution. We are aware that schools in a number of other states and countries have received similar phone calls in the past 24 hours.”

Reportedly, there has been police activity at Victorian schools, Berwick Chase Primary School in Berwick and at Aitken Creek Primary School in Craigieburn.
A Victoria Department of Education spokesman said: “A number of schools have received threatening phone calls this morning. The schools have reported these calls to the police.
“The safety and wellbeing of our students is always our number one priority, and the Department is taking these incidents very seriously.
“All schools have emergency management plans which include evacuation plans, and the affected schools have enacted their plans this morning.”
