From 40 Onwards
Life might not begin at 40, but there’s a whole lot of health checks that do! Keep on top of these ones!
- Diabetes Checks (from 40 up, at least every 3 years)
Diabetes is a growing disease in Australia, and a diabetes check should be added to your regular health check ups as soon as you’re 40.
If you’re of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage, your doctor might recommend you do these checks as early as 18.
A diabetes check is done using details about your health, and your doctor will assess your risk of developing type 2 diabetes in the next five years. These checks should be done at least every three years, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
