Aside from having poured all your thoughts into your motif, dress, food and theme, put some effort into the venue as well. Here in Australia, there are a lot of amazing and even crazy wedding venues that you can choose from.
Here are some of our favourites!
Queensland:
Lightspace, Fortitude Valley
If you’re looking for a venue with some rustic feel, then this spot is for you. Lightspace actually offers several choices for newly-weds to be. The whole venue is divided into three, you can choose to be in Lightspace One, also known as the Main Warehouse. It features a wide, open expanse with industrial girders, timber roof and polished concrete floor. Combined with Lightspace 2 its capacity is 500 for a cocktail event, 350 theatre style or 250 for a sit-down function.
Lightspace 2 is also called The Lounge Bar and is perfect for cocktails, smaller events or presentations. Lightspace 2 is perfect for intimate wedding dinners with only a small amount of guests.
And then there’s the Outdoor Terrace which adjoins Lightspace 2 and has a bamboo hedge, Japanese water feature and outlook towards the city skyline.
Brisbane Powerhouse
The place is a decommissioned power station located in the Northern part of the Brisbane river. The building was also used by homeless people for shelter and by street kids for parties and gatherings,[4] with some leaving reminders of themselves; dates, words, their names and art on the walls of the building. These elements contribute to its being such a unique place that photographers and film makers similarly made use of the deserted space filming both commercial and artistic works over the period.
They also offer a variety of settings to hold your wedding or commitment ceremony, as well as industrial style spaces for cocktail or sit down receptions making sure that your guests are looked after from start to finish.
Queensland Art Gallery
This art gallery is one of the best art museums in Queensland and is situated near the Gallery of Modern Art Building (GOMA).
The Roof Terrace at GOMA offers an unforgettable venue for a wedding reception. In there, be prepared to breathe in views of the Brisbane River, Kurilpa Bridge and the city. GOMA is one of the city’s best venues also because of their world class cuisine.
