The idea of a “perfect wedding” can make even the most pleasant of ladies snap.
Most brides often have to endure intense stress in the moments leading to their wedding. We’re not blaming these ladies at all because there are so many things that can go out of control.
But we’re not talking about these brides. We are talking about ladies who throw tantrums and go on an actual rampage on their wedding day. Here are 28 stories of brides going full bridezilla!
1. This well-deserved violence
As she was walking up the aisle in her dress the bride tripped over her gown. And instead of just getting up and moving on she let loose an absolute huge tirade of cursing and screaming at everyone, when her dad tried to console her she just got up slugger her dad in the face and started just throwing shit everywhere screaming about this mother fucking wreck of a day… She just lost in and proceeded to rip up her own dress and run out of the church half naked into the rain. I mean I know the stress is high but god damn she lost her fucking mind (elipsionnation)
2. This totally understandable freak-out
Last weekend a bride strides into a gorgeous rented chapel 4 hours early, while 30 people are praying, in her super short makeup robe, freaks out because a 1 table was not set up at that moment, picks up a chair in front of everyone and throws it at a trash can. Yep. (~account deleted~)
3. This reasonable emotional breakdown
The bride had a complete emotional breakdown because the purple monogrammed napkins she ordered were a little too blue-ish. She also spent the last half of her bachelorette party crying and complaining that not enough people were there. (snailisland)
4. This acceptable tantrum
My cousin married a vapid idiot. The night before the wedding at the rehearsal she figured out the flower girl had the same shoes as her, in a much smaller size. She flipped her shit at 9 pm and made the mother of the flower girl buy different shoes for her before the ceremony. That’s what happens when you buy your shoes from Payless. Not much of a selection in white. (KMKPF)
5. This absolutely forgivable rigidity
At my sisters wedding, part of the the reception was held indoors, in an area which isn’t wheelchair accessible. My disabled wife and i had to miss out on that part of it. We found out about it on the day, minutes before that part of the wedding was due to start. A little while after, we realise that there actually is a way to get into the area, we just need to go through an inside room which had been set up with tables for dinner. I found my sister and asked them to ask the staff to let us through. Sister forbade us from going through the room, saying she didn’t want anyone going into it until it was dinnertime, essentially leaving my wife and i sitting alone outside while she and her friends had a chocolate fountain & open bar. I came about THIS || close to giving her a loud piece of my mind and bailing on the wedding. (kahlzun)
6. This justified meltdown
Bride’s sister became pregnant six months before the wedding and the bride had a clusterfuck of a meltdown saying her sister had done it on purpose to steal her thunder. Threatened to kick her out of the wedding, nearly tore that damn family apart. Christ. (Sloane__Peterson)
7. This legitimate demand
One bride wanted a cake large enough to feed 500 and she wanted it to float. This multi-tiered cake was going to be filled with fresh berries and custard, covered with buttercream and fondant, and decorated with edible flowers and more fresh fruit. And she wanted us to somehow defy the laws of gravity/physics and make it float.
Apparently, she had seen a floating cake in an anime show and decided nothing else was acceptable. When I told her we can’t make floating cakes, she threw her coffee on the floor and cried that we were ruining her wedding. Her fiance ushered her out the door and I never saw either of them again. (anonymousmousegirl)
8. This bona fide ultimatum
My friend is getting married soon. She planned this huge wedding with 8 bridesmaids/groomsman and when she tried to arrange for the bridesmaids to get together and pick out bridesmaids dresses two of them couldn’t make it on the day she picked, she was so upset that they couldn’t come on that particular day that she sent out a nasty text to all the bridesmaids and cancelled the big wedding and now is having a destination wedding with just her fiance and their family… (MrsPottsBetch)
9. This fully justifiable threat
One bride threatened to leave her fiance before they were even married because he didn’t want a chocolate cake. He told her his kids were allergic and walked out on the appointment. She was absolutely shocked. (anonymousmousegirl)
10. This sound argument
Bride made flower girl wear white pantyhose because the little girl’s legs were “too hairy” (BuddhasMom)
11. This workaround that everyone should have foreseen
The bride fired the maid of honour (the one who set the couple up together) and brought her back a few weeks before the wedding. (CaptCanukInUSA)
12. This 100% logical request
One woman asked me if I could hire her a panda to be her ring bearer. (~account deleted~)
A panda.
13. This solid reason for throwing a fit
A friend of mine pitched a big ass fit because one of her bridesmaids couldn’t make it to a dress fitting. That bridesmaid had just had a C-section and wound up getting an infection. She couldn’t make the fitting because she was at the doctor. (cold_toast_n_butter)
14. This inevitable argument
Young couple comes in and is picking stuff out. As usual the guy is pretty i don’t care about things. Brides are never happy about this attitude.
We go through for a bit, but when it comes to picking vest styles they get into a huge argument right in front of me and my colleague. Eventually the Groom throws up his hands and says “if we can’t decide what Colours then we just shouldn’t get married!” And walks out the door and leaves in his car. (Tywy90)
15. This rational war of the brides
A bride once called having a melt down because her friend got engaged as well and was planning to get married in the same year as she was… Apparently it was her special year and not just a day. She threw a huge fit that this girl was only getting married to “steal her thunder”… Yes, because no one else can have a life at the same time as you. Her friends date wasn’t even in the same month or season. Hers was in October and her friends was in June…. Brides sometimes don’t think rationally. (sillykitty1990)
16. This well-founded ground for divorce
My sister is getting married on Friday. She threw the ring at her fiance yesterday and stormed off down the street barefoot because she asked him when he was picking up some decorations for the wedding and he asked when he should.
I guess she took that as, “I don’t care about this wedding or you. Your decorations are stupid and you look fat.” (NoIdeaWhatImEvenDoin)
17. This defensible disaster
She was pissed that I didn’t get her the “right veil” to wear for her freaking bachelorette party, had an epic screaming fit, and destroyed it– getting us kicked out of the bar we were in because she was so out of control (she was screaming at anyone that was trying to calm her down). Also, she got shitfaced and tried to jump on stage during the dragshow. The queen practically hurled her off stage, and rightfully so.
The next day she proceeded to kick me out of the wedding party for “ruining” her bachelorette party. I didn’t lose any sleep over that one; I heard her wedding was a disaster, and, after spilling coffee on her veil, she ended up wearing this horrible crown of leaves in an effort to look earthy and bohemian. Instead she looked all kinds of stupid. I cackled. (axelyas)
18. This shrewd business-mindedness
I had one horrible bride who I planned an amazing wedding for. She raved about how much she loved the food all evening, but the day after the wedding, she wrote a bad review about the caterer on yelp, and told me she wouldn’t remove it unless they gave her a discount. (Toronto_Planner)
19. This sensible assault
A bride was so upset that she couldn’t fit all of her bridesmaids on one shuttle back from the reception (they took two vans on a 10 minute trip back to the hotel and it only seats 12) that she tried to physically assault the driver.
He left her on the side of the road when she tried to bite him. (m30w7h)
20. This fair waste of jewellery
I’ll never forget working with one amazing groom. He spent a small fortune on a gorgeous Victorian engagement ring. It was one of the most beautiful rings I had ever seen.
I was super excited about the proposal (I of course wouldn’t be there to see it). Imagine my shock when I received a call from the groom the next day. She apparently hated the ring and threw a fit because (her words) he “bought her a ‘used’ ring from a garage sale”.
The ring was from one of the best vintage jewellery stores in the United States and cost $94,000. (ohiomobprincess)
21. This realistic dictate
I worked at a venue that had weddings every weekend. It was located about 15 minutes from a large international airport, which was very convenient for guests but a big problem for one of the brides.
She told the coordinator to make sure that no flights would be passing overhead during her ceremony. Okay, so, we’ll just call every airline and have them delay all flights for you, crazy. (Mudcatversion1)
22. This display of level-headedness
The bride that started demanding we serve the same food at her no-frills, bargain wedding reception, as she’d seen being served at the spared-no-expense, super-rich reception being held in another ballroom. She’d paid for a cocktail reception – hors d’oeuvres, drinks, a champagne toast, and a pretty basic wedding cake – but was suddenly screaming at the serving staff to get some ‘real’ food in there for her guests. When they refused, she actually followed one back to the kitchens, and was trying to load up trays herself. We ended up placating her with some extra hors d’oeuvres, but she had the galll to complain to my bosses about the whole night. (casinogirl2001)
23. This tolerable precaution
I knew a woman who was a bridesmaid in a relative’s wedding. She was married and had been trying to get pregnant for a while. Finally, her and her hubby got lucky and she conceived.
The bridezilla got furious and kicked her out of the wedding because she would be pregant in the pictures. 3 months later, sadly, the woman miscarried. The bride called her with a response along the lines of “good, well now you can be back in the wedding.”
Needless to say, she did nto even attend it. (hulagirl4737)
24. This mature and equal relationship
I used to be a “Bridal Consultant” at a retail store which basically means I helped couples scan things onto their registry, although the training for it just meant I knew how to use the scanner and the computer and my actual job had nothing to do with bridal shopping. This one couple came in to start a new registry, which quickly turned into only things the bride wanted. Anything the groom wanted to put down on the registry was deemed as “childish, stupid, ugly, unpractical, never-going-to-be-used”. I was cringing during the entire appointment, she kept asking for my input/opinion on everything and I felt so bad for this guy. His bride-to-be seemed so selfish and entitled, couldn’t believe the fact that he was soon to be married to this woman. The poor man just wanted a waffle maker, who doesn’t want waffles?! (_marjaz_)
25. This common-sensical command
Had a bride flip her shit at me and my band mates because our instruments weren’t white or salmon coloured to fit in with the decorations and she was saying we would ruin the photographs. Even though I was playing during the reception and all the photos were already taken. (orbital_cheese)
26. This appropriate and entirely sane reaction
I once worked in a bakery and we had this bride freakout that her cake wasn’t right and proceeded to smash it to bits with her fist. She smashed the wrong cake. Like wtf. Anyways the cops allowed her to wash her hands before placing her in handcuffs. I felt bad for the future husband and the couple that ordered said cake. people are cray cray. (Foxlust)
27. This loving outburst
I was at the wedding of an ex boyfriend several years ago and he had planned & practiced signing a Frank Sinatra song to his new wife. He went up & took the mic and, with the band backing him up, began singing the song (I can’t remember what it was) – His new wife suddenly stomped across the dance floor & up on the stage, grabbed the mic from him & said – “I HATE that fucking song & I don’t want to hear it.” They were divorced about a year later. (AverageJoe5555)
28. And this calm remedy to end all remedies
One off the top of my head was mad that she couldn’t get a refund. So she called up to the salon and threatened to come in and cut all the dresses up with scissors and blow the place up. (Knic1212)
