5. Your Blood Pressure And Heart Rate Decrease
When we’re asleep, our bodies don’t need to work as hard keeping us alive, which means that during nap time, both the blood pressure and heart rate decrease. In a state of rest, your body simply does not need as much blood to work, so your cardiac muscle and circulatory system have time to rest and repair. If you have high blood pressure, this drop can be very beneficial, which is why getting enough sleep is so important.
6. You Lose Weight
The reason that fitness coaches and nutritionalists want you to step on the scales first thing in the morning is because that’s when you’ll get the most accurate representation of your body weight. Why? Well it’s because your body loses weight while you sleep, in a way, resetting you back to zero. When we’re asleep, we lose water through sweating, breathing out humid air and so on. Of course, we do this all day as well, but because we eat and drink, any weight lost is negated.
