2000 – 2010 was a decade that also made its mark in pop culture despite the pressure of coming after the grand decade that was the 1990s. What it is about: Created by former police reporter, David Simon, The Wire, which is set in Baltimore, uncovers the drug scene in the city using the law enforcers’ perspective.

What it is about: The crime series follows the life of counter-terrorism agent, Jack Bauer. Each episode covers a day of Bauer’s missions, thus 24. Aside from high-profile crimes, his romances are also a highlight.

What it is about: Set in Los Angeles, with the spotlight on its world of fashion and glamour, this show follows the life of the Forrester family and their company, Forrester Creations, as well as their rivals.

What it is about: Dr. Gregory House is the Sherlock Holmes of the medical world. Working in the fictional Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, Dr. House has made a reputation by solving medical puzzles and unknown afflictions.

What it is about: The series tells the story of a teenage Clark Kent before he was Superman and when he was still discovering his powers. We see how he goes through high school and struggles with his identity.
