7. It Might Be Making You Depressed
Phones are such new technology, and as a result, there’s still much we don’t know about the effect that they have on us on an emotional level. Well, one study’s results are enough to make you cut back. The Baylor University found that people who use their phones more frequently suffer with more moodiness and temperamental behaviour.
8. It Causes Eye Strain
For most of us, spending the day on the computer isn’t just something we do for fun, it’s a part of our jobs. If you work an office job or spend a long time every day on screens, you could be putting strain on your eyes. Bringing your phone into the bedroom is only depriving your body of the short screen-free time that it gets every day, which could lead to severe eye strain and in turn headaches, blurred vision and more.
9. It Could Be Radiating You
Phones are great for so many things, but that doesn’t mean they’re great for all things. In fact, there’s much we still don’t know about phones, such as what the effects of cell phone radiation are on the brain. Studies currently haven’t shown a consistent proof that overusing mobile phones leads to cancer, but the fact is mobile phones do use radiofrequency (RF) radiation, and we don’t yet know the long-term effects of this. Best bet? Don’t have your phone closer to you than you need to, including in the bed!
