The body is an amazing thing, working around the clock and with the most complex systems to keep us alive.
But it’s not perfect, because the body can’t always tell us when something is wrong.
Or can it?
As it turns out, there are a number of ways that your body can tell you if something is wrong, particularly when it comes to vitamin deficiency. Thanks to a modern trend towards processed food, having vitamin deficiencies is more common than ever. Either we simply aren’t eating the foods that we need to eat, or we aren’t absorbing the vitamins we need to due to digestive issues.
Now, while vitamin deficiencies aren’t always super serious, they can stop your body from functioning like it should, which results in you feeling worse than you should.
So, here are five of the unusual signs that your body is giving you that you might be vitamin deficient. If you’re experiencing these, the good news is most are easy to fix with a few changes to diet, so what are you waiting for?
1. Scaly Red Rash On Face and Hair Loss
If you’ve noticed that you have a red scaly rash, particularly on your face but it can present in other places, as well as hair loss, then you might be suffering from a B7 (or biotin) deficiency. Know as the hair vitamin, it’s one of the few vitamins the body doesn’t store because it’s water soluble.
To increase the amount of vitamin B7 in your body eat more cooked eggs (avoid raw ones which inhibits the body’s ability to absorb B7), salmon, avocados, mushrooms, cauliflower, soybeans, bananas, raspberries and nuts.
