11. The average Western woman owns 19 pairs of shoes.

Although many prefer to keep the number of shoes they own secret, it has been found out that the average Western woman owns at least 19 pairs. This was discovered in a study done by the Consumer Reports National Research Centre; they also found out that 15% of these women have 30 pairs of shoes.

12. The youngest girl to ever be divorced was only 8 years old.

Until 2013, a 10-year old held the title of being the world’s youngest divorcee. In November 2013, though, a 8-year old child bride from India broke the record. While the case still portrays arranged marriage (the 8-year old was engaged to a 10-year old boy), the positive thing about the situation is that the bride’s father himself initiated the divorce when he realised he was making a mistake.

13. 5% of the world’s females are pregnant right now!

Assuming that there are 3,626,756,390 females right now, there should be 181 million women who are expecting a child (knowingly or unknowingly). This should not come as a huge surprise considering that there has been around 360,000 babies are born worldwide each day.

14. The most children born to a single female was 69!!!

The wife of Feodor Vassilyev, a peasant from Shuya, Russia, holds the record. Details about her life, including her name, are unknown, but the number of children she gave birth to is clear. Between 1725 and 1765, Feodor was said to have given birth to “16 pairs of twins, 7 sets of triplets and 4 sets of quadruplets.”

15. Women only own 1% of the world’s land.

Despite studies showing that women perform 66% of the entire world’s work and produce 50% of food, it has been found out that, in total, women only own 1% of the world’s land. Some of the reasons cited are arranged marriages, lack of education, maltreatment, slavery, and discrimination.
