My parents are both still alive, but are approaching their 70’s now.
When I think about it, there is so much I really don’t know about them. And when they go, I realise all the information will be gone forever. I’ve put together a list of all the things I want to know (and will be going to ask them sooner rather than later) so that I know as much about my family as I can.
If you have any burning questions, let me know because I’d love to add to this list.
About Your Relatives
1. Tell me about the relatives that died before I was born, what were they like?
2. Who was your favourite relative growing up?
3. What do you remember about your parents and grandparents when you were young?
4. Were you closer to your mother or father?
5. Did your grandparents ever work? Where?
6. Why did your parents give you the name they did? Who were you named after?
About Their Favourites
7. Where was your favourite place to holiday?
8. Can you name all the places you have lived? Do you remember the addresses?
9. Where did you go to school? Who was your favourite teacher?
10. Have you met anyone famous (that you haven’t yet told me about!)
11. Who were your best friends growing up?
12. Who was your very best friend in the world?
13. What did you want to be when you grew up?
14. What was your first car?
15. What are your favourite songs?
More questions you might want to ask your parents about love and life, next!
