10. Acrophobia
A common, but still not always understood, phobia is acrophobia, or a fear of heights. People who suffer from acrophobia will have an irrational fear of falling and will tend to exaggerate the height in their mind until it becomes unbearable. When forced into a high place, acrophobia sufferers will be incredibly restless and are often so terrified that they cannot get down, even though being up there makes their fear worse.
11. Ophidiophobia
Most people will probably tell you that they’re a little scared of snakes, but when you have ophidiophobia that fear is enhanced one hundred fold. People who suffer from ophidiophobia can barely stand the sight of a snake, let alone being able to touch them. Even the sight of a snake in a film or on television can set off an intense fear reaction. That being said, this phobia is actually quite common and, considering how dangerous snakes can be, not entirely misplaced.
