The world’s largest Paraiba tourmaline has a price tag that matches its record. Its worth was estimated between $25 and $125 million, but the buyer of the gem would not share how much he actually paid. The stone is 191.87 carats and has been set into a necklace as of 2013. Paraiba tourmalines are very rare, and named after the area in Brazil where they are mined. Rare for its colour, as well as for its magnificent size, this is one jewel that won’t soon be forgotten.
