Scheduled for release later this year, Before I Wake is a serious nightmare, one that is guaranteed to keep all but the hardened horror lovers out there up at night. The film revolves around a couple who lost their son and choose to adopt a young boy named Cody. The only problem is that Cody’s dreams, and nightmares, come to life while he sleeps. Emotional, haunting and downright terrifying, this film has a lot of potential and looks to be a thriller that horror fans will enjoy through and through.

6. Rings

Horror sequels, in the right hands, can be truly magnificent, particularly if they’ve been a long time coming. While The Ring Two (2005) certainly didn’t do the fanbase any favours, this long-awaited follow-up seems to be a whole new ballgame. Its release was pushed back from November to around April and from what we can find out, the film takes place 13 years after the original. The only character that will be familiar is the terrifying Samara, whose videotape is out to get people. Hopefully, this one doesn’t let the fans down.
