For reasons unknown to the most reasonable people in our population, there are some individuals who just love to get close to things that are dangerous to them. It doesn’t get much more dangerous than the Saltwater Crocodile, a terrifying predator considered by many to be a living dinosaur. Well, in Darwin, Australia, you can jump in a plastic box and be lowered into an enclosure with a 5m+ crocodile. You know, just for fun.

If you thought a high bridge was a thrill, you haven’t seen anything yet. Located in China’s Shiniuzhai Geopark in Hunan is a glass-bottomed walkway hung 180 metres above the ground and stretching for 300 metres. The glass is apparently 25 times stronger than normal glass, but you still have to wear special shoe coverings to cross it.

If you need your thrills at height, it turns out that India is the place to be. In a small village called Mohan Chatti sits India’s best bungee jump provider: Jumpin Heights. The company was started by an ex-Army officer, and its biggest thrill is a fixed platform jump from 272 feet above the ground. That’s the highest in the entire country!

For people who dream of throwing themselves out of perfectly good planes, this is the thrill for you. It involves a tandem skydive from 29,000 feet directly above Mount Everest. It’s far from easy though, with a four-day trek required to the drop zone, where you need to be outfitted in special clothes and oxygen for the thin air. The good news is your thrill will last almost two whole minutes. That’s a lot of freefall!
