Salmon might not be the cheapest food, but it is rich in very high-quality protein and also a very good course of omega-3 fats, which can really benefit your child as they develop. Another positive is that unlike many other fish, salmon has low amounts of methylmercury, a harmful compound that can negatively impact your baby’s developing nervous system. Just because it’s good doesn’t mean you should eat too much though, so limit your intake to about 340g per week.
