Mum Left Humiliated When Cafe Staff Yelled At Her After She Changed Her Son’s Nappy Outside The Cafe

A mother was left humiliated and in tears after a cafe staffer yelled at her for changing one of her one-year-old twin son’s soiled nappy at the café.

Dion Skull is a regular diner at the restaurant, but that one day made her decide to never set foot in the restaurant again.

The 31-year-old mum was out with her twins Luca and Zack at the Farmhouse Restaurant in Guildford, UK, when Zack needed his nappy changed.

In a Facebook post she has since deleted, Dion knew her pram didn’t fit through the baby change door, so she was faced with options to either ‘leave Twin 1 unattended while changing Twin 2, leave the cafe halfway through lunch, or leave Twin 2 sitting in his own s–t.’ She decided to sit outside on the grass to change her son so she can see the other twin inside.

“That way I can keep an eye on his brother while he eats the salad that makes them 90% profit?” she wrote in her post.

However, moments later, a staffer approached her, claiming other diners had complained about her changing her son.

Dion was left utterly humiliated and in tears. She wrote:

“To the anonymous person who complained – you’re a dick.

“I made it almost impossible for you to see anything. If you saw something that offended you, you were looking too closely.

“Worse though, to the waitress who complained to me, shame on you! I didn’t need to know that someone had complained. You didn’t need to publicly embarrass me.”

“I didn’t need to leave with hot eyes and a lump in my throat.”

“You mentioned that this person told you that they’re not coming back again … well, neither are we.”

Dion’s post has gained mixed reactions from parents who both sympathised and criticised her.

One user commented: “This is disgraceful being a mum of twins myself, it’s very difficult and stressful being a mum of twins. If the changing facilities aren’t adequate you do what you have to do!!!”

However, some parents said that Dion shouldn’t have changed her son’s nappy in public that way. “I am sorry but whoever complained was right! There are baby changing facilities everywhere nowadays- why not to use those? Your child’s poop is acceptable to you, but not me and I would not want to see contents of a dirty nappy whilst I am having my dinner!,” a user said.
