Heroic Boy Delivers Baby Brother After His Mum Went Into Early Labour

A heroic boy has safely delivered his own baby brother when his mother unexpectedly went into labour at just 34 weeks pregnant.

Mum Ashly Moreau, from Louisiana in the US, has never been prouder of her 10-year-old son, Jayden Fontenot after saving her life and his newborn brother, Daxx.

Ashly recounted how last August 11th became the most unforgettable day of both her and her son’s lives.

Ashly’s partner had just left for work when she went to the restroom and things took a terrifying turn.

“My water broke and I looked down and my son’s feet were hanging out,” Ms Moreau told KPLC-TV.

Jayden hurriedly went to his grandmother’s house next door, but due to a recent surgery, she was unable to walk, although she did manage to call 911 before Jayden raced back home.

At that point, Ashly had been bleeding profusely, and was reportedly told later that it was most likely due to her placenta detaching from the wall of her uterus.

The baby was initially in breech position and Ashly did not waste time as the baby’s life hung in the balance.

“I said (to Jayden), ‘You’re going to have to deliver your brother, and we have to do it fast because the baby’s feet are turning blue and he can’t breathe,’ Ashly told TODAY in the US. “He said, ‘Tell me what I need to do and I’ll do it.'”

Jayden immediately helped to rotate Daxx out of the breech position and was eventually delivered, but the baby wasn’t breathing.

So, Jayden rushed to grab a nasal aspirator which his mother uses for his young sister, then he reportedly began to pump air into the baby’s nose and mouth.

Thankfully, the baby began breathing before the paramedics arrived to take the pair to hospital.

The baby has remained in hospital but is expected to come home in a week or so.

Ashly told TODAY how proud she is of her son. “I don’t think Jayden understands what he’s done and how big it is,” she said.
