You probably know all of the above and are saying everything you should be, however, it’s just a little reminder to parents, teachers and carers that all children need praise. We all want our kids to feel encouraged and motivated and acknowledging their daily triumphs, but also keeping it real with what we say to them.

I’m a “good boy” and “clever girl” junkie and changing my habits will take a bit of effort. But my plan will be to take a deep breath and really connect with the praise I give and remember to praise the action and not the child.
