Almost every new parent is given a baby book to record their child’s major milestones.
Their first tooth, their first word, their first haircut and their first step all the normal type of stuff most parents will record. But what about recording the other things, the stuff that isn’t normally included in the generic baby record books? Or maybe you don’t like using the baby record books and need some inspiration about other ways to record your child’s milestones? Here are different ideas of what and how to record those memorable moments of your child.
1. Create a time capsule
Include items like the outfit they wore home from the hospital, newspaper clippings from the day they were born, lists of current movies and music, their favourite snuggle toy, their first drawing, their first photo with Santa, special books and toys from family members; and why not write them a letter each year on their birthday and pop it in there for them to open on their 18th?
2. Fabric Book
Can’t part with your kid’s oh-so-cute outfits? If you can sew, why not create a fabric book using some of their newborn outfits? Include the buckles, studs and velcro from clothes in the fabric book for your little one to touch and feel. A great keepsake for life.
