5. Butter & Cheese
Due to dairy allergies, butter and cheese get a bad wrap as a baby food, but providing you consult with your doctor first, there’s nothing wrong with them in managed quantities. Butter is a great source of fat, which is perfect for growing babies, and cheese is a good source of calcium, so also not a bad idea.
6. Garlic & Onions
We think of baby food as being typically bland, but there are some suggestions that too much bland food, or too many of the same flavours, might make babies fussier eaters as they grow up. To start them off, why not add a little garlic or one of the onion varieties into their food? When they’re cooked and stirred into purees, they provide a flavour-booster that might result in a more adventurous eater.
