A Cricut Machine isn’t just a fun craft item to play with. It is a money-making machine!
If you haven’t heard of a Cricut Machine before – and you are crafted, buckle up because you are in for a ride! Cricut Machines look and work similar to a printer, but rather than printing, the Cricut uses a small blade to ‘cut out designs’ on either paper, t-shirts, some types of wood, cork, leather and more.
Cricut Machines can make custom t-shirts, greeting cards, stickers and more.
If you are interested in a Cricut Machine but don’t know anything about them or where to even start – well you are in the right place!
What is a Cricut Machine?
A Cricut Machine is a cutting machine that can cut all sorts of designs from paper, vinyl, card stock and other materials. Some Cricuts even allow you to cut leather and wood!
Crafting machines like the Cricut Machine are sometimes called “die-cutter machines” or “craft plotters”.
You can use the Cricut machine for just about anything with scissors or a hand scalpel. That said, it’s faster than would be achievable by hand because it is electronic and has far more precision than any person could ever do!
What Does a Cricut Machine Do?
Creating a cutting machine that can cut designs out of paper without the use of hands sounds like science fiction. Luckily for us, this technology exists in our modern world! The Cricut Machine is pretty much exactly what it sounds like–a printer made to print with blades instead ink cartridges inside them.
To use your Cricut Machine, you first choose the material you wish to cut and place it on the cutting mat. The cutting mat will hold the material in place whilst it goes through the Cricut Machine. The mat is then loaded into the machine.
The next step is to choose your design in the Cricut Design Space on the downloaded App. In the App you select the material settings and your design.
Then you press the button on the Cricut Machine to start the cutting process. Once the material has passed through the Cricut, just remove the mat from the machine, then remove your material from the mat!
