Bookweek is this week – and it comes around waaayyyy too fast every year!
Here are some relatively easy suggestions if you need a bit of help!
For the Girls:
Matilda (Roald Dahl)
Don a headband. a denim skirt and a cardigan – and you have Matilda!
A Golden Ticket!
Charlie in the Chocolate Factory is one of my favourite books of all time. Why not try going as a ‘Golden Ticket’? Grab some gold wrapping paper, and with some careful handwriting on the front – you have the infamous Golden Ticket!
Fox in Socks
Dress your child all in red, add some fluffy socks for the hands and feet – and make a tail out of anything you have. Put a bit of makeup on with whiskers and a button nose – and buy a cheap set of ear headbands from your local cheap store!
Pippy Longstocking
Put on a plain dress, stickytape some patches of material, add a cardigan, some boots with different coloured socks, and plait the hair in two!
Where is the Green Sheep?
Put on anything green your child has. Make a simple sheep mask – and that’s it! Pretty easy!
Meg & Mog
Dress your little girl in all black. Make a simple cardboard witches hat, and grab a broom if you don’t want to make one at home yourself.
Miss Trunchball (Roald Dahl)
Grab one of Dad’s old shirts, put a belt around the middle and draw on a monobrow!
Charlotte’s Web
Grab a flanno shirt, sneakers, denim jeans or shorts, and a pet (stuffed) pig!
