11. Join online forums.

Online forums are fun and you get to commiserate with strangers online. You can either join a forum where you’re completely anonymous (like Ask SAHM and Dirty Little Secrets!) or you may want a community where you can create an account to gain some sort of familiarity with your co-members.

12. Invite your neighbours over.

Looking for adult interaction? Don’t forget about the adults who are literally living next door! Unless your neighbours are creeps, take time to know them. Gain their friendship and you get free home security for life.

13. If time permits, join or go back to the workforce.

Only if this is a solid option of course. You can either work full-time or part-time — whatever it is, you’re going to finally interact with adults on a daily basis and bring income to the household.

14. Start an online business.

The beauty with starting businesses today is that you can do it completely online. There’s no need for a physical office space, which greatly reduces your operational costs. If you have a hobby, earn from it!

15.  Focus on self-development.

Remember that your life doesn’t have to revolve around your kids! If you can’t get out of the house as often as you want to (it happens!), try to focus on yourself instead. Perfect your craft, or start a skincare or fitness regimen, or read more books! You’re not going to meet people by doing just this, but by the time you are able to, you will have gained expertise in your chosen interest. Even if it does not happen, you will certainly be able to talk about a lot of things outside your children!
