If you’re looking for a really hands-on way to help your partner out, massage is definitely a thing to consider. Dads can help mum take a load off with a bit of gentle massage for relaxation and stress reduction. Massage and pressing on acupressure points at the base of mum’s neck can also help to bring milk down, creating a happy mum, and a happy family.
8. Take A Shift
After 1-2 months, when the breastfeeding routine is set, dads can step in and take night feeds on occasion using expressed milk. However, even if your partner isn’t interested in expressing, there are other ways to help. For example, you could be the one to get out of bed of a night and bring the baby to your partner to be fed before taking them back again, meaning mum can stay relaxed in bed.
