Salt Bath
- ½ cup Himalayan or Sea Salt
- ½ cup Epsom bath salts
- Few drops of essential oil of your choice (optional)
Add ingredients to the bath as it draws, being sure to agitate the water well to dissolve the salts. The bath does not need to be overly hot for this bath to be effective, so make it a temperature that is enjoyable to you. While soaking in the tub, be sure to splash water over your arms and torso. Soak for at least 30 minutes and rinse well.
This bath is so simple, but so effective. Working to deep cleanse your pores and relax your muscles, this is a great bath if you’ve been working out, have tired muscles or problematic skin ie acne on your back or shoulders.
Skin Smoother
- ¼ cup baking soda
- 1/3 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- ¼ cup Himalayan or Sea Salt
Add ingredients to your bath and agitate well. Soak in a comfortable temperature for at least forty minutes. Rinse well and lightly buff your skin afterwards with a mitt, exfoliating gloves or a face washer.
This bath is an absolute favourite for leaving your skin feeling incredibly smooth and supple. It also helps to clear minor skin irritations (but be careful not to get the bath water in your eyes!).
Soothing Bath
- ½ cup of finely ground oats (best results with a food processor, as fine as possible!)
- ¼ cup natural honey
Add ingredients to your bath and agitate the water well to dissolve. Soak in a comfortable temperature for as long as you are able. No need to rinse (you shouldn’t be sticky if honey has dissolved properly)
A little tip for the soothing bath mix your honey in a bowl with boiling water before adding it to the bath. This will ensure it dissolves properly into the water and won’t leave you with sticky clumps. If you don’t have a food processor to grind the oats, wrap the whole oats in a muslin bag and be sure to rub over your skin whilst in the bath. This bath is deeply nourishing and moisturising and is fantastic for soothing rashes, itches and eczema.
Milk Bath
- ½ cup powdered milk (or use raw milk DO NOT DRINK)
- ½ teaspoon of cornstarch dissolved in water
- ½ teaspoon of baking soda
- Essential oil of your choice (approximately 3-6 drops)
Combine ingredients as you draw the bath. Agitate well. Soak in a comfortable temperature for as long as you are able and rinse lightly afterwards.
This bath doesn’t quite pack the medicinal punch of the other recipes above, but it is so decadent and relaxing. It will leave your skin feeling soft and nourished and is a soothing way to pass a good half hour!
