12 Of The World’s Coolest Tree Houses You Can Visit

As a child, I dreamt of having my own tree house.

There were just two tiny, tiny problems. First, my dad did not have the carpentry skills necessary to build a tree house. The other tiny problem? We did not really have a big tree in our backyard. Suffice to say, I had to say goodbye to my dream of owning a tree house.

Now that I’m an adult, I’m still dreaming of having my own tree house! Having Pinterest at the tip of my fingers didn’t help — if anything, it just leaves me drooling all the time. I’m sure these super cool tree houses will leave you feeling the same!

If you think tree houses are primitive, then you need to rethink your life decisions. The Yellow Tree House Restaurant in New Zealand looks every inch an upscale and sophisticated structure. The restaurant, which uses poplar and redwood slats, allows for generous natural lighting to go through and produces a smaller carbon footprint.

2. Tea House Tetsu
