Renting Troubles

Dear Stay at Home Mum,

My fiancé and I have been applying for houses to rent for nearly 6 months now, and we’ve been knocked back about 6 times because we don’t earn enough money. The house we’re in now is making us all sick because it’s infested with mice and rats and our landlord is difficult to get a hold of, let alone help us out with pest control. How do other low income families find houses to rent when noone seems to want to give us a chance?
