It’s a common misconception that the ship sank on April 14th 1912. In reality, she sank on April 15th 1912. April 14th was the date on which she hit the iceberg and the sinking was at 02:20 on April 15th.
4. Out of 3,339 people on the ship, the tragedy left only 710 alive.
There are no survivors left alive today, although some 710 people were rescued from the ship that night many of them died in the 1960s of natural causes and old age. The last known survivor was Millvina Dean who was just a baby when she sailed aboard the ship. Millvina died in 2009 at the ripe old age of 97.
