Christmas is a busy time of year, and although it is supposed to be a holiday where people can relax and celebrate, there’s often a lot of work to be done.
This is especially true for mums.
Most often, mothers get stressed with all the preparations they have to make for Christmas: family dinner, gift shopping, holiday planning, and the likes. Luckily, there are a number of things that you can do now, especially with the nearing holiday season, that would help you save time. Not only that, but these tips can relieve you from stress, and monetary issues!
Check out these tips, and feel free to add your own!
1. Pair Up
Keep motivated and on the right track this December by pairing up with a buddy to plan the various Christmas activities and events. This might be a fellow mum, or someone in your family who is keen to get organised for Christmas. A buddy system works because it will keep you inspired. Plus, an extra pair of eyes can ensure you have not missed anything along the way.
2. Christmas File
Another great tip for preparing for Christmas is to create a Christmas file for your ideas. What does one put in a Christmas file? Anything to do with Christmas of course! This may include catalogues for toy ideas for the kids, addresses of relatives for Christmas cards, budgeting spreadsheets and your various to-do lists, which we’re going to go into more detail about below.
3. House Prep
If you’ve got people coming to stay for Christmas, or even coming to spend the day, there are things you can do now to prepare your house. Organise your guest rooms, look into travel arrangements and think about storage. You might be using your guest room for storage, and it can be stressful to try and get rid of or move all those items. So take some time now to clear out the clutter, before your in-laws are on your doorstep!
